A fatal car accident occurred early Friday morning near Bara Nala in the Srinagar Kotwali area. Preliminary investigations by local police indicate that the driver succumbed to sleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic. The car collided with a truck with force, resulting in immediate fatalities. Three individuals lost their lives at the scene, while a 23-year-old woman, Pooja Nagar, succumbed to her injuries shortly after being admitted to the district hospital.
Identities of the Deceased
The deceased have been identified as Naresh Nagar (35), Awadhesh Nagar (35), Bhura Gurjar (35), and Pooja Nagar (23), all originating from Madhya Pradesh. This tragic incident further exacerbates the concerning trend of road accidents in the region. Notably, just last Wednesday, another horrific collision transpired on the Prayagraj-Ayodhya highway, resulting in the demise of four young individuals.
